This patch fixes five known bugs.
- It fixes a bug that prevents the game from running when installed in a root directory,
this bug produces a series of error messages when you load the game and the program fails
to find some 160 image files.
- It fixes a machine specific bug caused by older CD-Rom drivers that do not support
CD-rom labels of more that 8 characters upon loading the game. This bug produces an error
asking to insert the CD in the CD-Rom drive.
- It allows puzz-3D CD to run in 24-bit colors, to bypass a machine specific bug where
quicktime movies compressed in jpeg will not play in 15 bit colors at this point, there
have been three cases reported with the following configurations :
- Gateway 2000 06- 200, with slb velocity (chip 53 virge) 4mb video card.
- Gateway 2000 200mmx, with slb 4 mb video card.
- Gateway 2000 p150, with diamond stealth 4 mb video card.
- This bug can be detected by the following error message : " script
error : cast member not found-de-bug" when you first enter the cathedral.
- It fixes a bug that can only happen on machines with more than one CD-Rom drive, where
the program will expect the cd to be in the drive that has the highest drive letter. This
bug will produce one of the following error messages when you start the lutorial or a new
game : " File not found lutorial.tex " or " File not
found cathedral.tex ".
- It prevents possible bugs caused by two instances of the program running at the same
time. It is possible to launch the game accidentally at the same time as the autown is
lauching a second instance of the game. The two instances could cause file conflict errors
or memory overload errors.
